Every child learns differently. Rather than expecting your child to adapt to one way of learning, adapt your support to fit the individual child. Remove unnecessary barriers whilst preserving opportunities for growth. Gentle suggestion, non-verbal modelling, practical scaffolding and thoughtful adjustments often achieve more than repeated instruction or direct demands.
The destination rarely changes. The route simply adapts to the child. The aim is always to make success more achievable whilst steadily building confidence and independence over time.
Your child struggles to brush their teeth. Instead of repeatedly reminding them, you leave toothbrushes in several bathrooms, brush your own teeth alongside them without comment and make the routine as easy as possible. Over time, brushing begins to happen with fewer reminders because the barriers have been reduced rather than the pressure increased.
